Cruise ships reinforce Brazilian accommodation solution during COP

 

On Wednesday, July 16, the Brazilian Federal Government, through the Special Secretariat for COP30 and Embratur, finalized an agreement for two cruise ships to serve as temporary accommodation during the COP30 event. This pivotal climate conference will take place in Belém, Pará, from November 10 to 21, 2025. This initiative will significantly increase lodging capacity by providing approximately 3,900 cabins and 6,000 beds for the world's largest climate event.

From now on, accommodation will be made available in stages. This includes all modalities, such as hotels, vacation rentals, and ships, among others, which are part of the set of accommodation solutions.

“These two large ships are part of a variety of lodging options designed to accommodate all COP30 attendees, including UN delegations, observers, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and businesses,” said Mr. Valter Correia, the special secretary for COP30.
