PASSAGE 1
[1] Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to revolutionize the way we learn and teach, making it more
personalized, engaging, and efficient. AI in education refers to the use of artificial intelligence technologies, such
as machine learning and natural language processing, to enhance the learning experience. It involves the use of
algorithms that analyze data, identify patterns, and make predictions, enabling educators to personalize
[5] learning for each student. The potential benefits of using AI in education are significant. Personalized learning,
one of the most significant advantages of AI in education, can lead to better student outcomes, as students can
learn at their own pace and in a way that suits their learning style. Intelligent tutoring systems, chatbots, and
automated grading and assessment can increase efficiency, save teachers' time, and provide more accurate and
consistent feedback. However, there are also challenges associated with using AI in education. Privacy and
[10] security concerns, lack of trust, cost, and potential bias are some of the challenges that need to be addressed.
Ethical considerations such as ensuring accessibility, transparency, and fairness in AI-based education systems
also need to be taken into account. Despite these challenges, the potential of AI in education is immense. AI can
provide better data analysis, enabling educators to make data-driven decisions. In this review we described the
role of AI in management and promotion of education, which describes the effect of AI in the education sector.

HIGHER EDUCATION SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVE - TERMS OF REFERENCE (TOR)
[1] The Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI) is an open partnership between United Nations Department
of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), UNESCO, United Nations Environment, the Principles for Responsible
Management Education (PRME) initiative, United Nations University (UNU), UN-HABITAT, UNCTAD and UNITAR.
HESI provides a broad platform for the United Nations and stakeholders to learn and share how the higher
[5] education community is supporting implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and for
encouraging higher education institutions (HEIs) and university networks to integrate sustainable development
into teaching, research, outreach, and sustainability practices.
(…)
HESI works with a range of actors, namely its Partners (UN entities), Signatories (i.e. Higher Education
[10] Institutions) and Supporters (i.e. international networks, national and regional organizations and student
organizations) in carrying out its activities. This open partnership provides a unique interface between higher
education, science and policy making in support of the SDGs.
HESI relies on an informal organizational structure, leveraging a very collaborative and dynamic set of partners,
higher education institutions and networks. In this regard, HESI has been able to attract many commitments
[15] through their own network of Partners, Signatories and Supporters. While this modus operandi has been very
successful in the past, it has also been noted by members the need to achieve a more regular and effective
collaboration mechanism for engaging with HESI. It is against this background the present proposed Terms of
Reference has been prepared, intended to clarify the roles and responsibilities of the various actors involved in
HESI.

UFV 2024Travel May Slow Down Aging Process
Forget the serums and injections and instead pack your bags. A new study shows that travel may be one of the best ways to prevent premature aging.
Researchers at Edith Cowan University in Australia set out to study whether travel can slow the typical human body’s “low entropy” or gradual decline. Turns out that all the positive aspects that come with travel — physical activity, mental stimulation, exposure to new experiences, immersion in nature, and new social interactions — can in fact help slow down aging. “Tourism isn’t just about leisure and recreation. It could also contribute to people’s physical and mental health,” said a professor who led the study’s research, in a statement. That emphasis on physical and mental health is the key to staying younger, longer. “Aging, as a process, is irreversible. While it can’t be stopped, it can be slowed down,” she said.
In the Edith Cowan study, the researchers found that travel might help alleviate chronic stress, dampen overactivation of the immune system, and encourage normal functioning of the self-defense system, which can all help slow physical and mental aging. The reason that travel is so good for you is that vacationers typically end up doing more physical activity than they do at home, like hiking mountain trails, walking miles through European towns, or beach strolling for miles. “Engaging in recreation potentially releases tension and fatigue in the muscles and joints. This relief helps maintain the body’s metabolic balance and increases the anti–wear-and-tear system’s effectiveness,” the professor explained.
Additionally, new destinations mean new mental stimulation—new sights, new languages, new experiences, all of which are good for the brain. According to the research, those new activities and novel settings can stimulate stress responses and elevate metabolic rates, positively influencing metabolic activities and the body’s self-organizing capabilities. While stimulating stress sounds like a bad idea, she said it is actually beneficial and can improve the body’s ability to identify real stress and threats and make it stronger.
