Many couples have met through social media, which can be a great way to meet friends. There can be a downside, though, since chatting with friends on social media can pose risks to marriages and other relationships.
Out of 50 couples married in the U.S. in 2011, at least one met through a social networking site, according to The Wedding Report. Social media sites are diversified in their functions, and starting intimate connections, whether marital or not, is just one of them. However, four of five U.S. divorce attorneys say they have seen a rise in cases with social networking involved, according to the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
One consequence is the danger some relationships end up in due to networking on social media sites. The word Facebook was included in more than a third of divorce filings last year, according to a survey done by Divorce Online and reported on by the Wall Street Journal.
"When we look at social media, I see it as changing relationships in a couple of key ways," said Rachna Jain, a psychologist by training with clinical specialization in couple and marital therapy. "It is definitely another distraction from primary relationships. You see that when people are talking on Facebook, not to their partner, with them right there in the room. There is the possibility to go back in time. Facebook makes that really easy."

Soccer is one of the most popular sports in the world. There are soccer fans in almost every country. Soccer’s biggest tournament is the World Cup. This competition takes place every four years in a different country and is watched on television, and in stadiums, by millions of people around the world.
As with many sports, it is not known for sure how soccer began. Many believe that the earliest games were played in China and Japan over 1,000 years ago. The game we know today probably started in England. Many of the earliest soccer games were very rough, and for years, British royalty tried to ban the sport. They were not successful.
In 1857, the first soccer team was created in Sheffield, England. In 1863, eleven English teams met to form the first Football Association. In 1904, a world association was created, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). Twenty-six years later, in 1930, Uruguay hosted the first World Cup competition.
In the World Cup Finals, thirty-two teams from different countries compete to win the championship. In the first competition in 1930, only thirteen teams played. The winner of the Jules Rimet Trophy that year was Uruguay. After the 1938 games in France, the World Cup was not played again until 1950, this time in Brazil.
The 2002 World Cup championships were special. It was the first time the games were played in Asia. It was also the first time that two countries, Japan and Korea, hosted the World Cup together. It was a sporting championship to remember

Are you a baryonic matter chauvinist? Probably,
yes, but if not so sure, here is the definition of baryonic
matter. Baryonic matter is that with which we are all
familiar and that interacts with visible light: Protons,
neutrons and electrons; atoms and molecules; your
body, your car, stars, galaxies. Almost all of us are
chauvinist in relation to baryonic matter. We tend to
think of ourselves and the world immediately around
us as something special. Then, by extension we
regard our kind of matter as the most important kind
of matter in the universe. We act as if the only kinds of
matter that mattered were the ones we can see.
Sorry to disappoint you, but science tells a starkly
different story. Last spring, the European Space
Agency’s Planck Spacecraft completed an ultraprecise
15-month census of the composition of the universe.
Baryonic matter, also named light matter, makes up
only 4.9% of the total composition of the universe.
Planck Spacecraft also found evidence that
another fundamentally invisible, cool and mysterious
type of matter, named dark matter, vastly outweighs
baryonic matter, accounting for 26.8% of the universe.
Dark matter is undetectable by its emitted radiation,
but its presence can be inferred from gravitational
effects on visible matter.
The remaining 68.3 % is dark energy, an even
more baffling component that consists of formless
forces. According to Einstein, dark energy is an
intrinsic property of space. As more space comes
into existence, more of this energy-of-space appears.
A hypothesis is that, as a result, this form of energy
might cause the Universe to expand faster and faster.
While this theory is still not well understood or proven,
it is certain that more than two-thirds of the universe
has no substance at all!
While we usually focus on matter made of visible
atoms, researchers learn more about dark matter’s
and dark energy’s complexities. In view of the
discomfiting Planck result, we must let go of all our
feelings of supremacy. After all, it seems possible that
our galaxy lives on top of shadow galaxies without us
even knowing it.
